God rest his soul. I offer my heartfelt condolences to Debbie and the Henning family. I had the pleasure of seeing Doug in the "Magic Show" as a child and in "Merlin" as a teenager. And clearly he influenced an entire generation of magicians. My happy career as a professional magician would not of happened had Doug not existed. And for his short stay on Earth I'm grateful. Thankfully much of his work is recorded on videotape, and like Robert Houdin who ushered a Victorian era for Magic. Doug modernized Magic for the later half of the 20th Century. Additionally, his work (in his first 4 T.V. specials) was unprecidented in the use of original illusions performed on Live Television. Something that no illusionist has since had the guts to attempt. May he rest in peace.
Respectfully, Levent Cimkentli
