When I heard the news on CBC this morning about Doug, I couldn't believe my ears and ran to turn up the radio. I felt deeply saddened with disbelief. I had the great fortune to become friends with Doug in 1977 while he was in Europe studying with Maharishi. He was a very sensitive human being, kind and child-like, full of innocence and wonder. I will never forget him telling a story one evening to a group of us about his life growing up and his attraction to magic. At one point, he started to cry as he spoke of his deep search and love for higher truths and how it led him to the world of magic and illusions. He was a special individual and one that has made a difference during his stay on planet earth. He touched millions with his wonderful and inspiring performances. We love you Doug and may God bless your tender soul.
